A dental bond is an excellent way to repair minor damage to your teeth. Bonds can repair minor chips and fractures in your teeth, as well as correct coloration issues and improve the shape of your teeth. A dental bond can be applied in a single, painless visit.

Dental bonds can restore the look and to a certain degree, the function of a damaged or misshapen tooth, but they are not impervious to damage. Over time, they can be stained by dark colored foods and drinks, especially during the first 24 hours after the bond has been applied. A bond can be chipped by hard or tough foods, a blow to the face, or even by opening a package with your teeth. If you open a package by biting down on the end of a package and giving it a good yank, you may want to try a pair of scissors. If you take the proper precautions with your bond, brush your teeth twice a day, floss once a day and see your dentist for your regular cleanings and exams, your bond could last for many years
